Subject Interbase over RAS.
Author Jason Berry
Hello

Preparing the same IBX IBSQL query over a RAS connection takes 22 seconds, compared to 0 seconds with a LAN connection.
Subsequently fetching each row of the result set over the RAS connection is quick.

What if anything can I do to speed the prepare operation up?

I thought the interbase server would be passed the SQL text/params and prepare the query. I would have thought this would not require a large amount of bandwidth.

I would be most gratefully if someone could enlighten me. Not with an explanation on what thought did.

Regards

Jason Berry
