Perhaps this question should be asked at FB Support. I'm not sure
and will try here first. IBO has several methods to connect to a FB
database. I want to connect to a FB database on my laptop as
follows, and I ask if this is possible and if so how?
At a main office is a Win 2003 terminal server TS on a LAN with the
main FB database, mainFBDB. I am at a remote site with my WinXP
laptop that has a modified copy of the main database. Call it
LaptopFBDB. It is at C:\data\laptop.fdb. I have connected to TS
using Remote Desktop Connection. From the TS my laptop folder with
LaptopFBDB is seen in MS Explorer as
\\tsclient\C\data\laptopFBDB.fdb. (no colons) On the TS is a
replication program made with Copy Cat components, connected to the
mainFBDB and it needs to connect to laptopFBDB on my laptop. (if the
laptop were at the main office there is no problem)
Perhaps someone more familiar with FB connections and Remote Desktop
Connection can tell me?
I made a little connecting program and placed it on TS trying all
combinations cpLocal, cpNetBEUI, cpTCP_IP, cpNovell and different
TIB_Connection.DatabaseName strings. All failed.
Thanks.
