Thanks a lot,
This seems to have solved the problem (cross my finger, knock on wood and all other things of good omen <g>)
Now I have a different question.
Using a windows 1.0.3 Superserver the app used to freeze.
what would happen with Classic server under Linux.
Could it cause the server process to get killed and client loose the connetion?

Set IB_Connection.CacheStatementHandles to false
