This isn't a hoax - I know about them.

Our company was hit yesterday evening at 17:30 by the newly released GONER
virus. We do have AV support and were actually installing the latest DAT
file to stop this one when it 'got in' to the system.

Please do not open any emails which have the subject 'HI' as they are
infected with a 'screen saver' attachement (goner.scr)
Apparently, having the preview pane option turned on in Outlook (or express
?) is enough to infect your PC.

Our technical bods have cleaned up the system overnight and we are now
clean, but beware out there.
