Thanks for everybody contributed.
I have solved this problem. this is what i did.
My son still has kubuntu 9.04 amd64. On his computer I installed
libstdc++5_1%3a3.3.6-17ubuntu1_amd64.deb through synaptic.
Then I tried FirebirdSS-2.1.3.18185-0.amd64.tar.gz install
As expected it succeeded. then from package cache I copied
libstdc++5_1%3a3.3.6-17ubuntu1_amd64.deb to my pen drive and
brought it to my laptop's home directory where Kubuntu 9.10 is installed
I Installed that deb and retried FirebirdSS-2.1.3.18185-0.amd64.tar.gz
install it succeeded. I tested start and stop but not database
connectivities yet. I have to get those databases from my backups
I will try those in office now and let u know but I dont see any
problems in that.
Thanks and best regards.
