Hi -
This probably a basic question, but here goes.
Right now we are using a firebird server in our new york office and
the connection string is 192.168.1.102:c:\mydata\resource.gdb
We want to use vpn to connect to our San Francisco office. What
would the connection string look like from the SF office. I assume
we would substitute the "outside ip address", but what else is
needed.
ie: 7.10.1.100:3050:c:\mydata\resource.gdb
Also, does the connection automatically go through the vpn "tunnel"
or does something need to be done to acomplish this.
If the vpn tunnel is open directly to the nyc office network, should
I use the server's Name instead of an ip address?
ie: firebirdServer:3050:c:\mydata\resource.gdb
Thanks for any advice or tips you provide.
