You are correct! I must have somehow missed out on the fact that the 1.5
client doesn't need version
stamping to work with IBX. I have just replaced the version stamped dll with
the non version stamped
one and it does work.

Really, I haven't seen any such posting. Where did you see this???

Firebird v1.5 introduced a new FBClient.DLL but this could be renamed as
gds32.dll and work with IBX without any problems (AFAIR). v2.0
maintains this.

Further, the client API has not been changed in v2.0.
