Hello:
I have an application developped in Delphi 5 (Windows) which uses FireBird and IBX. The application consists basically in an executable file (MyApplication.exe).
Originally the application was installed in the server PC and the client PCs executed this executable file accesing it using the path to the server disk, for example T:\Program files\...\MyApplication.exe. The data files (which were dBase files) were in a folder inside the folder of the application.
But now that I am using FireBird, the disk of the server is no longer shared and the database files are accesed using port 3050. So I install the executable file in the server and also in client PCs.
When I have a new version of my application, in the old version with dBase, I only needed to install the new executable file in the server. But now I need to install the new executable file in every PC.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to avoid this?
Thanks in advance.
Gustavo
