Additionally I have checked
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and the path to
FBServer is listed (!?) - although Firebird is set to run manually.
FBServer is also listed under C:\Windows\Prefetch but I'm not sure
if this makes any difference (?).
But, the question still remains as to what is causing FB to try and
load twice (accepting that HKLM...\Run exists at this stage) but the
Server manager is set to manual start-up.
BTW, FB 1.5 was originally installed but I did uninstall before
adding 1.5.1.
Thanks for the help Paul. If I can be of any more assistance please
let me know. Sorry for the delay in replying but Friday is
the "weekend" here in the Middle East and I had to go out shopping
earlier.
