I understand, but until you can use V2, you're kind of stuck. We're
about to release the second Alpha version of V2, which is late enough
for an existence proof, but way to early to think about building
production code. If it were me, I'd bite the bullet and convert to
generated primary keys. They're more reliable, faster, and work. The
latter is a significant plus.
