I've just given a look into the Microsoft web site searching the VcRedist
package.

These are the differences found:

File name VcRedist version Firebird version
-------------------------------------------------------------
MSVCP60.DLL 6.0.8168.0, 401462 byte 6.0.8972.0, 401462 byte
MSVCRT.DLL 6.0.8797.0, 278581 byte 6.0.8797.0, 278581 byte

As you can see, MSVCRT has the same version and size of VcRedist, while
Firebird's MSVCP60 has a most recent version than VcRedist, but both have
the same size.

It seems that installing VcRedist is useless at this point. I have to say
that the VcRedist package doesn't contain only those two files, but other
more.

At this point I don't know what to do to resolve this big problem.

Now I'm going to try to install my application under 98SE. I will report
the results, but I expect the same problem...
