Infoworld magazine just published an article that basically
recommends considering open source databases for all but the largest
enterprise projects. The only open source databases mentioned in the
article were MySQL and PostgreSQL.
One of the reasons MySQL is so ubiquitous is that practically every
web hosting service offers it, with excellent management tools, for
very low prices ($7/month seems to be the going price, with unlimited
storage and email boxes).
I would like to implement my next web-based project with Firebird,
with which I have had excellent experience in the past. Can anyone
recommend reliable, affordable web hosting services that support
Firebird?
Thanks,
