IBObjects is *not* like the BDE. It only needs FB/IB installed and off you go.

I have read the dbExpress driver has bugs that won't be fixed any time soon.

It consists of tools that connect directly to the server using the API.

IBObjects tools are powerful, fast and work really well. Some complex forms can be built
in minutes with just a few dozen clicks --- it takes a little time to learn which clicks
to make, though.

Assistance is 2nd-to-none.

Bug fixes are few, but appear very soon after their first occurrence.
