Interesting. I wonder if isc4.gdb could be part of the problem. If I
were to send you a debugging client dll and executable, could you get me
a traceback when the system is hanging?

Although the affinity problem may be a complication, it should affect
every access, not just connections. If you have connected with one
application, are subsequent connections as slow?
