*IF* I had VC6 then I would have done this myself, but I don't and so I
- like many others - are reliant on the windows builds which have - up
until now - happened automatically on php.net. Many people using
Firebird are based on Borland windows development tools, and despite
what has been said in the past, VC and Builder C++ simply do not play
well together starting at the simple 'how do you ...' level.

VC9 is - as I understand it - only required for IIS which is not on my
own test systems, so all that I require is the same build of php that is
currently happening for PHP5.2? That is just and automatic build isn't it?

So why can't we simply have the VC6 build for PHP5.3?

The extension builds happily in PHP5.3 on Linux, is working there and
since THAT is not included in distributions we circulate our own copies
of it. So why should we not do the same thing with an Apache/Windows
build in much the same way that we circulate Windows UDF extensions for
Firebird.
