What is very annoying is to run in circles, thanks Lester for that.

What you need to compile php 5.3 is vc6 or VC9 and be able to build
firebird so we can use the fbclient with php. In the meantime someone
has stepped in and is working now on fixing the build scripts (for
VC9). I will inform the list(s) as soon as there is something
available.
