I was that guy, and it's possible that somewhere along the
lines I may have made a mistake in describing what vesions
I worked with but not so much how I did that.

I am runnning FB 1.5 and 1.5.1 with Mandrake 10.0, and I
achieved that using the exactl steps I posted for 1.03. I
am basically a lazy type, so I wouldn't bother to remeber
those steps. I noted them, did another installation to
confirm there were no errors, and by now I used the same
for now over 10 such installations. Worked every time.

I don't do all the steps now because after the first time I
compiled appropriate version of PHP I kept the *.so file.
Next time over it was just a question of placing it in an
appropriate directory - quite a time saver.
I also have an *.so file for FC 2 for which the steps will
be similar, except of some directory paths.

The steps I followed were based on a post to this list by
Julio Carlos Canaviri C. I gave appropriate credit to the
