Even between Intel/AMD Windows and Linux servers.
Not true for servers which use more "esoteric" CPUs -- Sparc, MIPS...

P.S. Not sure about servers running ARM, but there aren't many of them around -- mainly used in mobile devices, though they are trying to get into the server space.
