I couldn't install vmware player on my ubuntu hardy so instead i installed
virtualbox
and then i downloaded the jeos iso<http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/jeos/releases/>
after installing it with
$sudo apt-get install virtualbox-ose
i have added myself in vboxusers group
$grep vboxusers /etc/group
vboxusers:x:124:mariuz
Then restarted my system
Created an new disk for iti called it ubuntu-firebird (4g image)
I booted from the ubuntu/jeos iso image (find it in the menu) and then i run
the classic ubuntu installer for server
without the bloat
And now i can play with firebird/php5/ibwebadmin
This thing is really faast , it runs at the native speed , i like it and i
think i will convert my
vmware images to virtual box ones
<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuMagazine/HowTo/Switching_From_VMWare_To_VirtualBox:_.vmdk_To_.vdi_Using_Qemu_+_VdiTool>
did i mentioned that is open source too ?? and sun brought it too
soon i will test kvm on my machine and upload on sf.net an firebird
virtualbox image
