Yes. I was thinking about simply taking the "news" page as the entry
page. Can also be a new one with "a bit of all". That would also fix
the problem someone else remarked, that the move from my current
entry page to the content pages is a bit nervous since it jumps from
centerd to left aligned.

I was thinking about it yesterday but a good idea for content of such
an entry page hasn't yet come to my mind. The PostgreSQL home page is
aproximatively what you describe, right? So it would sort of be
a "resume" of information also presented in other sections of the
site?

But David, concerning the background colour (and besides the fact
that white is neutral and "standard"): The yellow has two drawbacks:
It's a "soft" tone and so the whole site gives a "soft" impression
and that's not the image I want most for Firebird. And it's close to
the colour of the logo which looses contrast.

If really you'd all feel the need for a background colour, I'd
recommend to do some more experiments, especially with light blue or
light gray. But I recommend against it.
