I agree with your idea of a clean and essential web site layout (a la
Apache), and I agree that the web site could have an important
marketing role in the launch of the forthcoming FB 1.0

Now, since one of the most followed rule in OpenSource projects is:
"Do you think it's good ? Just do it."
why not to start building and maintaining a Firebird website ?
No matter if it will be a firebirdsql.org or a firebird-markus.org, if
it will be a good web site be sure that you'll get referred by all the
other sites involved in the project (ibphoenix, ib2000, pavel's one
etc.). I visited and appreciated tons of MySql related sites, often
better than the official one.
It's in the interest of we all that Firebird spreads all over the net!

I followed this thread since the beginning and I think that you are a
smart and very practical guy. I'm sure that it will take less than
what you think to complete the site you started.
And please don't say you don't have time because you write tons of
long emails each day !!! :-)))
