Subject Re: [IBDI] IBPhoenix - article about IB6, certified, faq etc...

Hi all,

from what I read in the different newsgroups, some things are getting
reconsidered...

For example, the decision about building the OS version and not being able
to call it InterBase is back to the legal department. As well as what goes
in the source tree and what not...

Still, I find the current model hard to believe and I think it won't work in
real life. The current open source 'builds' from Borland (by Robert) are
pretty much useless. I've put my hopes on Firebird for any application I'm
going to build in the future, but will be watching IB of course...

I'm very sorry that I don't know how to write C and C++, I can (a little)
read it but that's about it.

Once in a while, I just post an idea/feature request to the IB Architect
list and think about stuff that I would like to see in IB/FB.

As asked in borland.public.ib.general: if there's someone out there who has
a (compiled?) ready to run test-suite for IB (OS) or Firebird, I'm willing
to let it run, at night.

I have a Win2000 Server machine here, and in some time, a Linux machine
(probably Suse 7.1 Pro). You can contact me personally at
m.tonies@...

Hope this helps,
