Subject Re: [IBO] Adobe Acrobat and TIB_Grid

I am doing it on a simple OnScroll event of the dataset.
The component is the TAcroPDF that is in the AcroPDF.ocx
file that Adobe releases. I use the filename that I am
placing in a field in the record and then setting it
in the AcroPDF component. It loads the image and then
does not let go of the focus back to the TIB_Grid even
when I do a SetFocus.

This program is for "non-computer" users that have problems
with such things. The simpler the better. I have to over
idiot-proof it to death.

The only work around that I have found is where I pass the
filename to a separate window with the component, but even
then it will only go modal as far as the PDF is concerned.
I have to have the user click on a close button.

I think I would rather have a non-modal form to pop up and display the PDF, such as you would see in a web form with an Adobe or NitroPDF Reader plugin to the client app (in that case, of course the client is a browser.) Then, if you wanted to, you could retain a PDF document and return to the main form to select another. If you are properly careful about creating and destroying the instances of your pop-up form, you shouldn't get any undesirable
