how to restore database in linux?

i am using iboadmin, in windows run ok.

now want to use in linux ubuntu 8.04

my database location i already check it's permissions
chown -R firebird:firebird /home/firebird

if i run backup run ok

but if i run restore cannot open backup file and replace old database.

can someone help with right direction how to do it in linux?
