I don't know if this is the right place to ask this so here goes:
I remember reading a few years back that Interbase didn't like the
servername to be specified as an IP address and that this could possibly
cause database corruption. (can't remember if it was IBO specific but I
don't think it was).
I've been using Firebird since v1 so I'm just wondering if this problem was
ever fixed (either in FB or in IBO). I don't have any data corruption
problems, but I've seen a client of mine using it with IP's and I got
concerned and told them to rather use the hostnames.
