AFAIR, that was just that inherited thing from IBX, that affects the
application when running in the IDE. If you use the v.1.5
"compatible" client version on the server, you don't get this. Also,
Lorenzo fixed it pretty early in the game, so it's my guess that
you've been using a wrong client and/or a very old version of
IBOAdmin; or you actually had the InterBase 5 or 6 client on that server.
