There's also winetools with free WINE package where you can do the
configuration but I haven't tried it yet.

Thanks for that, I was not aware of CrossOver. Some interesting
stuff in their FAQs that should help me.

I am presuming (hoping) the guy building the system can resolve
the font issues without "borrowing" from a commercial product.
