Sorry. :) )
On several PCs after clean IB installs there is only one line in
the Hosts file: 127.0.0.1 and no entry for gds_db in the
services file. Yet the programs work with no problem. I just
do not know all of the many places that can be configured
for Interbase or IBObjects that I should be looking for. I do
remember to watch for the 3050 setting but in forgetting it
I still have working sites. (???) The one I am developing on
had no such entries for both files, but I have fixed that.
I am working with MSSQL, Interbase, Pervasive, SDL, Paradox,
TurboImage, and the usual basic databases (DBase, CSV, etc)
Sometimes it is overwhelming trying to remember all of the
settings I must remember. After I get through with this problem
I am going to try to set down and write a book on some of them....
Thanks,
