Sorry for getting OT, but I just have to ask Lester.
I also have a G550 (with a ViewSonic VX900 - flat 19" 1280x1024; Win2k
SP2). I've installed the latest (I think) drivers, but experience 'noise'
on the screen: round or rectangular patches. With earlier drivers and
1024x768 on a 17" CRT the G550 worked better, but the picture was never
totally 'clean'. Does the G550 work flawlessly for you?
