Guys,
I've got a D7 app hitting a FireBird 1.5 RC7 server (Red Hat Linux
9.0). My development machine is WinXP Pro, on which the app runs
perfectly, and itself is running FB 1.5 RC7.
My app consists of a single .EXE. I copied the .EXE and GSD32.DLL
(renamed from FB 1.5's FBCLIENT.DLL) to another WinXP box, and the
app runs fine.
I copied the same 2 files to a Win98SE box, and although the program
starts, it will not connect to FB. After doing a little reading of
the FB 1.5 release notes, I copied FB 1.5's original FBCLIENT.DLL
and GDS32.DLL (stub program!) to the Win98's \windows\system folder,
and then set the reg key as described in the FB 1.5 release notes.
Now the program crashes immediately on startup.
What am I missing here? What do I need to get this app to run on
Win98?
