"Horizontal Dataset Refinement" is an IBO4 ability to access zones
(top, middle, end) of a large dataset and so prevent the need to load
all of a large dataset.

It seems unlikely that the problem would be coming from elsewhere in
your application. If you can post the query definition from the DFM
perhaps I can try to setup something with the same properties.
