several months things get in a mess. It used to be a joke
that Microsoft's responce to 'funnies' in Windows was
'reinstall', in reality it's a pain, but an essential pain.
My development machine gets wipped and I JUST put back the
versions I am now using. It does not eliminate the niggles,
but often it flags where a problem has come from.

back off again ( had to reinstall W2k <g> ) as my compile
times quardupled when I had it on - obviously some Microsoft
protection addon, but I can't be bothered to waste time
investigating. ( XP seems to be worse - it is only Microsoft
products that are supposed to run faster, isn't it? )
