I know it's OT, but how can you keep interbase local, i.e. not allow others
to open my databases? I tried to ask it in IB forums, but didn't get any
response

Also, there are some concerns about installing Fb itself: if your users are
using NT/2000 they must have administrator rigths to install IB/FB on their
machines. Also, installing FB will open port 3050 on all computers, and this
could be an issue if someone try to open the database in "the computer of
the boss". For example, if they do a standard install with no worries,
everyone can have access to your data using sysdba/masterkey password.
