I had sent Jason a demo app which exhibited this behaviour. And I think it
is fairly easy to reproduce by having a query open in the OnShow event, and
an unprepare in the OnHide event of the TabSheet that has the grid in
question. Could you check it pls?

You mean using Hide/Show in the OnShow event solved the issue? or was it
Visible:=false/true?
