With what application? Have you already setup a password for SYSDBA,
or are you trying to use the default password?

Trying to run guardian or just ibserver? If you are trying to run
guardian you may need to manually add to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Borland\Interbase\CurrentVersion

the entry
GuardianOptions (type string) Value = '1'

I am running under Win2K Pro without much problem (although mostly
running as an application so I can stop/start different versions).

I suggest that you try posting to the IB_Support list, you are more
likely to find someone that can help you with these problems.
