I still have the same problem with IB6 on the odd machine.
It is not an Interbase ( or IBO ) problem, it is simply that
Windows has decided that it can't decode the IP address. The
convention is for a name with the IP address being supplied
by which ever method your network is set up for, but a
static IP address should not cause a problem - if nothing
else works.
( The machines I have problems on were all built from the
same Windows 98SE disk - most work fine, a couple don't -
all with static IP addresses in a simple HOSTS file so there
should be no problem )
