Subject ANN: InterBase Workbench 0.8.3
Author m.tonies@upscene.demon.nl
Hi ladies, gentlemen,

Upscene Productions is happy to announce a new version of InterBase
Workbench - the developer tool for InterBase and Firebird.

InterBase Workbench gives you an easy-to-use application to create,
edit and extract your database objects, export tables, run scripts
and ad-hoc SQL statements and much much more... InterBase Workbench
works well on low-bandwith connections because of extensive caching
when using the Object Editors...

InterBase Workbench is created with IBObjects
(http://www.ibobjects.com) - the best Delphi and CBuilder InterBase
connectivity set available.

Version 0.8.3

New features:
Overall
* All editor shortcuts have changed!! Please check main menu for
changes!!
* 'Open Windows' window - lists all open windows per category (SQL
Editors, Table Editors) or per Connection
* All editors have better synchronization - refreshing from the
database (Database Navigator) clears the editors, but re-fill them
when selecting a table/generator/index etc... Since version 0.8.1,
the editors would be cleared and you had to close the 'old' editors.
* Increased stability

SQL Editor
* Much improved printing of Scripts and Single SQL
* Automatically 'prepares' your query and switches to the 'prepare
parameters' tab if using parameters
* Misc. small new features

Login
* You can use the 'Upscene Alias Resolver' to get a list of aliasses
(see http://www.upscene.com and Preferences screen)

Database Search
* Much improved database search

Help File
* Help file greatly improved - more complete and more clear

Bug fixes and small enhancements:
Enhancement: InterBase Workbench no longer gives you a warning when
you have a BLOB field with a characterset, but no collation.
Collations aren't possible with BLOB fields.
Enhancement: Misc stuff for Domain Editor improved.
Bugfix: Procedure Editor: clicking 'new output parameter' when no
grid had focus would result in a new input parameter
Bugfix: Since v0.8.2, the Template Editor in the Preferences screen
was broken
Bugfix: Database Navigator had a little bug when (de)activating all
indices -> sometime the table it belongs to wouldn't show in the tree
Bugfix: Domain Editor: fixed a few small bugs considering
the 'default' and 'check' edit boxes
Bugfix: Invalid Keylinks Entry bug in SQL Editor fixed for non-
editable resultsets
