If you look in the registry, you will find the 'CPS' seting
in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CPS, you obviously have
something in here that it does not like, and the location is
the same betwen the old and the new program. I would just
delete the contents of that entry. Alternatively delete the
'branch' by deleting the 'CPS' and let the program start
again.
