The problem here was with the IB5.5, IB5.6 and early IB6
gds32.dll. Basically while it worked, it always gave an
error on exit if Events had been used. Th fix for IB5 was to
use the IB5.1 gds while later IB6 and Firebird gds's have
also fixed the problem.

For some things IB_Events are fine. Personally I have
implemented my own messaging system because of the problem
above, and also because I want to say which record has
changed, while Events just give you a global message. If all
you need to know is that there has been an update and a
simple refresh works well for you then they are fine.
