> Jason, your opinion on going the firebird route?Right now I am in the middle between Firebird and Borland. I fully intend to
support and assist each as much as I can with IBO. If and until I have to
chose or am forced to chose one or the other I won't recommend one over the
other.
As a hint, for my personal use, I will most likely use Firebird because it
seems to be the one with the most active, communicative and interesting, not
to mention qualified, people involved with it. As for Borland, it's like I'm
a peasant and they are the Lords. I don't seem to get much respect. They
will have a usable product but I don't look forward to the community model
they are trying to establish. For that matter, it simply seems they don't
want the real InterBase community. InterBase needs to be seen as its own
product. There are so many places it could be used in outside of the Borland
dev tools realm if they just gave it a shot.... I know that my world fits
there but I can clearly see that InterBase has come nowhere near the
saturation that it should have.

to have to tell me. How else do you think I have time for all of this?
