New! Free Version for Educational Purposes!

Since we had a lot of questions from students,
who want to use IBExpert as a part of
a course at a university or school, we decided
to create a special Version for this.

The only limitation is, that a database cannot
be larger than 50 MB, when you work with this
version. There is no other Limitation, such
as a time limitation, so you can
use it for understanding SQL Language (DDL, DML),
Transactions, Stored Procedures, Triggers,
Entity Relationsship Modeling, Reporting, Optimizing
and much more.

In Addition to the free Database InterBase or Firebird,
you get a unique way to learn professional Database
Programming without any costs.

How to get the free IBExpert Educational Version?

We need an Email or Fax order, where you describe
the place, where it should be used (University,
School, ...). We also need a short description, in
which course you plan to use it. You get access to our
Educational Area as soon as we get your order.

The email with the Download Info will only be sent to
an email in the uiversity/School Domain.

We will not send a License, when we do not get these
informations, so please, write us a little
description.

Things we changed in IBExpert:


1. Fixed bug with dropping database in SDI mode.

2. Domain editor: Added optional possibility to change domain
attributes
using direct modifying of system tables (useful for changing NOT NULL
flag,
collate etc.). By default this option is off. To turn this option on
use
button
with red exclamation sign on the toolbar of domain editor.

3. Environment Options | Preferences: Added "Hide DB Explorer
when inactive" and "Hide main form when inactive" options.

4. Database designer: Automatic correction of field names in index
and key
definitions.

5. Database designer: Now supports work with layers.
So now we are working on feature named "subject areas" like
in ErWin. This will be more convinient and more flexible.
(for example when you change position of an object in
one layer it will not be changed in all other layers, as it
does now).


6. Services | DB Shutdown: Now IBExpert will perform disconnection
before
database
shutdown.

7. Script Executive: Fixed bug with loading big scripts with tab
characters
(was very
slowly).

8. Print Metadata: Added possibility to print objects that depend
from UDFs.

9. Environment Options | Grid | Display Formats: Added option "Use
Field
Scale"
for float fields. If this option is on IBExpert will use original
field
scale while displaying
it's value.

10. Data Grids | Reorder grid columns: Now supports multiselection.

11. Script Executive: Now supports single line comments.

12. Options | General templates: Added tag %FIELD_NAME% for foreign
keys.

13. Script Executive: Added possibility to automatically insert
CONNECT
string
into begin of script.

14. Options | Object editor options | Table editor: Added option "Sort
records on server".
If this option is on IBExpert will generate appropriate ORDER BY
clause
instead of
sorting records on client side.

15. Many other bugfixes and improvements...
