I have version 2.5.2 installed on both machines (as the win2k) machines use local firebird databases as well as the networked one

Not 100% sure how I open port on the Windows XP machine but I will google it :)

Do you have installed Firebird on XP machine ?
Do you have opened 3050 port on it ?
