Thank you. Downloaded the latest bits (Nov-6) =>
FirebirdCS-2.5.2.26539-0.amd64.tar.gz
package and followed the same instructions. Again, there is no trace of
"fb_lock_mgr" file as discussed in both blogs. I noticed the addition of
"gbak" file which I included in the "bin directory in the second post
you have given. However I am still getting this:
baskint@Tucker:~/fbemded$ bin/isql -user sysdba -pass masterkeycan't
format message 17:3 -- message file /home/baskint/fbembed/firebird.msg
not foundSQL>
Thinking it is some kind of access issue, I have switched to "root". And
it connected the first time, but now it does not. I think the database
is locked or a process got hung. Not sure. I would like to understand
how to open and close connections with isql command.
How can I change the access level so that my regular account can use the
isql command? I will keep digging.
Thanks again,
Baskin
