I have a piece of software that requires Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express, and I am hoping to run SQL Server on the same server that I am using to host a DBA (manufacturing software) server, which uses Firebird as its database engine.
So far as I can tell, they use different ports and can coexist with each other peacefully, but I couldn't seem to Google up anyone with an explicit answer to this particular question, and I want to make absolutely sure before I try to install SQL Server 2005 and potentially screw up a mission-critical program that relies on Firebird.
Thank you in advance for any help/suggestions with my question.
