If I choose FB 2.5/3 for a vertical market app, how do developers prevent the user (hacker) from copying the database to another machine to bypass the security I've set up for the database?
I'm used to databases like DBISAM, Elevatedb, Nexusdb etc that have the ability to encrypt the database or at least the tables so potential competitors can't hack my data structure and create a cheap clone or much about with the data.
With FB there is no encryption so it can be hacked quite easily if I distribute the database.
Are there any links or references you can suggest? I know servicing a client will make sales but I don't want to give a leg up to my competitors.
TIA
Mike
