Hi, I'm planning to migrate our BDE client/server Delphi2007 applications to Firebird.

At some of our costumer sites, I know there is already a Firebird server running, installed by other companies whose software is also running at the site.

This fact worries me a little.

Will it be possible for us to have our own FB server, when there is already one running?

What if they require one version of the server, and we require another?

What if we need to upgrade the FB? Or somebody else does an upgrade without telling/asking us?

If the other company installede the server before us, they might have used their own password, what if they wont give us access? Or are very slow to do so?

I can se several problems in this scenario.

Any comments or suggestions?
