Hello:
I have an app that about 50 people use. Compiled by Delphi 2007 for
Win32, single user, with FB embedded. There are several users that use
the app on a Mac with Parallels. In the app I use madExcept to catch and
send me error reports. I am using IBO for connection components.
Would it be best for these users to install the FB Mac server and access
the DB through that while in parallels (can that even work)?
Or
Would it be best for these users to run in BootCamp?
What I'm concerned about is any translation between the Windows
environment and the HD and database. I read somewhere that this can slow
things down. Is that even true?
What is happening is occasionally any DB activities can slow way down
(processes that may take seconds suddenly take minutes) and I do get
error reports indicating that IBO cannot complete a query or other
statement, but these errors are separate from the slow down and very
infrequent, but they only happen with the Mac users.
Thanks,
