That's an interesting question, especially for open source software.
V2.5 has been extensively tested and is known not to have bugs that
the "production" versions have. The major new features appear stable.
It's almost certainly safer than any 2.0 version, and much better
that the 1.5 versions that are in wide use. Furthermore, if you
find a problem, the development team will be all over it, while bugs
in earlier versions get less immediate attention.
