You apparantly haven't been following the recent discussions about the problems Stephan is having; for him it is probably worth more to use a development build than to be confronted with problems he is having with release versions of Firebird.

Also 'it's dangerous' is a bit over the top, it could have negative effects, could cause dataloss etc. But 'could' does not mean that it will happen.
