You can only "demand" if you have the right to expect something (i.e. when you are paying for a product/service).

You can *request*, if you would like someone to do you (and others) a favour (when you are getting something for free).

There is another option, if the feature is important to you. Offer to fund (pay $$) to have someone add the feature, through a donation to the Firebird Foundation.
